Hunting for the right name usually means bouncing between slow pages, daily caps and signup walls. cuename keeps everything in one fast catalogue, and every entry serves fresh names on the spot rather than a static list.

How it works

Not a random word machine

No AI. Every name is procedural: hand-curated banks + deterministic rules.

  1. 1

Every namer keeps its own banks of prefixes, roots and endings, along with the patterns that join them, which is why the results sound right instead of random.

  2. 2

Names are assembled the moment you ask, and cueing again brings a fresh batch as many times as you want.

  3. 3

Pages for people and races come in male, female and neutral forms, while places, items and factions serve the full mix.

  4. 4

There is no account, no paywall and no daily cap. You open a page and use it.

Keep what you find

Copy, save, export

Copy any name with one click, or open swipe mode and drag right to keep a name, left to skip. Saved names stay in your browser rather than on a server, and any batch exports as txt, csv or json for your notes or campaign doc.

Behind the site

Made by one person

cuename is an independent, fan-made project, built and run by one person with no studio or company behind it. It exists because the classic name generator sites slowly filled with clutter and got heavy to load, and picking a character name should not feel like wading through all that. This is the opposite: a fast, app-like take where the page opens, you cue a batch, and you get back to your story.

The names themselves come out of hand-tuned banks of name parts, assembled on the spot the moment you ask and never stored anywhere. Everything stays free with no signup. If a name sounds off or a world you write in is missing, the contact page reaches me directly.
