Cuename is provided as-is. Everything here is free to use for any purpose, commercial or not. The names you cue are yours. We make no claim to them, and we can't grant anyone exclusive rights to a particular string, since names on their own aren't copyrightable.

Don't use the site to deliberately overload the backend. Basic rate limits apply (a few thousand requests an hour per IP). If you're building something that needs more, contact us.

We can't guarantee a name you cue here is unclaimed as a trademark, business, or character in a published work. If a name matters for something commercial, check it against the relevant registries (USPTO, Companies House, etc.) before you commit.

We may update word banks, add or retire categories, or change the UI. Saved favorites in your browser aren't affected by backend changes. If a page you relied on disappears, your export still works.

Some pages are named after games, books, films, and shows: Star Wars, Warcraft, The Witcher, Minecraft, and many others. Those names tell you what style of name the page produces. That is the only thing they mean here. Cuename is a fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these franchises or their owners, and all trademarks belong to their respective holders.

The names you cue are procedural. They are assembled from phonetic parts to sound at home in a given setting, not copied from official character lists. They are free to use, but if you plan to publish or sell something set in someone else's universe, that is between you and the rights holder. The franchise label on a page describes the style of the output, nothing more.
