About guild / clan names

Fellowship names range from English entries like "Golden Harvesters" and "Pious Death" to French standards such as "les Sabres du Crâne". The bilingual spread is handy when a server or setting needs guilds that clearly come from different homelands. Test a favorite by shouting it as a battle cry, since any name that fails out loud will fail in recruitment chat.

How guild / clan names are built

Two main branches feed guild and clan names. The English branch pairs a collective head with an "of" phrase for titles like "Force of the Fortunate" or "Shamans of the Infernal". The French branch pairs a 315-entry collective head (e.g. les Sabres, la Prophetie) with a descriptor pool (338 entries in one pool, 120 in another) holding adjectives like Éternelle and de-phrases like de Terre, and one template appends an inflected ending to the stem, turning "de Chance" into "de Chanceux". Output includes "Les Lances Perdues" and "La Renaissance Téméraire".

  • Force of the Fortunate

Force (collective head) + of the Fortunate ("of" phrase)

  • La Prophétie des Vaincus

la Prophétie (French collective head) + des Vaincus (descriptor)

  • Les Prédateurs de Chanceux

les Prédateurs (French collective head) + de Chance (descriptor stem) + ux (template inflected ending)

Naming notes

Use these for adventurer guilds, mercenary clans, thief crews, and sworn companies in fantasy and tabletop campaigns. The English "of the" form is short and grim ("Specters of the Poor"), good for a banner or motto-like name. The French branch is the deepest pool here: the head carries the article (les, la, le) and the descriptor slot keeps contracted de-forms (du, des) intact, while an ending rule inflects eligible stems, sometimes roughly, as in "La Passion de la Corruptionux".

Questions about guild / clan names

Why is the French side so much larger than the English side?
The French banks are the deepest in this generator: 315 collective heads and 338 plus 120 descriptors. The English "of the" banks are large too, but the bulk of distinct output comes from the French combinations.
What does the "ux" ending do?
One template appends the ending to an eligible descriptor stem, turning "de Chance" into "de Chanceux". On some stems the ending lands roughly, as in "de la Corruptionux", so reroll if a result reads oddly.
Are guild and clan names interchangeable here?
Yes. The generator treats them as one family. "Secrets of the Ape" works as a tight guild banner, while "La Renaissance Téméraire" reads as a clan or company name, but both come from the same template set.
